The WSACS - The Abdominal Compartment Society is headquartered in Belgium and was founded in 2004 to promote research, education and improve the survival of patients with abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS).

At CAMPINAS 2019, the WSACS will bring with it a large number of international guests (forecasting more than 40 foreigners) from all continents, who will bring in their expertise, theoretical-practical courses of international standard, some of them never held before in Brazil.

In addition, WSACS will bring its sister-society, the International Fluid Academy (IFA), which will host the 8th International Fluid Academy Day in Campinas.

Both entities will also jointly promote the 1st World Symposium on Damage Control Resuscitation, with participation of military specialists from Canada, England and the United States.

All this will result in discussions of excellence on: complex abdomen, abdominal compartment syndrome, entero-atmospheric fistulas, abdominal sepsis, emergency surgery, critical patient management, fluid replacement, intensive support tactics; attracting besides clinicians and surgeons, also the intensivists and emergencists doctors and anesthesiologists to the event.

The latest edition of WCACS was held in Banff, Canada, in June 2017.
